How important is fast steel belt servicing to your business?
A damaged belt stops production and creates expensive downtime so it’s vital that service support is fast and effective. there are a number of qualities you’ll look for in your steel belt service provider but few will be more important than global service coverage, local knowledge and innovative, time-saving repair techniques.
Here’s just one example of how we succeeded where others failed.
In the four years since it was first installed, the original steel belt manufacturer Had already carried out three
shot-peening procedures on the upper belt to overcome the results of the “troughing effect” however,
when the fourth treatment was attempted, it proved unsuccessful.
Understandably unwilling to invest in a new belt, the customer contacted Biquick for a second opinion. and with a
newly developed and more powerful system At our disposal, we were happy to help.
The bow shape of the upper belt was 32mm on the right side, measured 600mm from the edge. after the
Biquick shot-peening treatment, left side was down to 4mm and the right side had a 6mm deviation.approx.25 hours
of shot-peening was needed to flatten the upper belt.
As a result,the customer was able to recommence production without any problems-and without the expense of having
to replace the belt. today, not surprisingly, Biquick process systems remains that customer’s steel belt service provider.
